Congratulations to Rachel Brown from our Edinburgh Office who passed her Part 3 Professional Architectural Exams last month. Rachel completed her Undergraduate and Masters course at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and has been with AT since graduating in 2014. She went on to complete her final ‘Part 3′ course at ESALA during 2017 and has this week received her certificate with her name now added to the list of registered Architects held by Architects Registration Board (ARB). From everyone at AT, we want to congratulate you on all the hard work to achieve this and wish you all the success in your future career as an Architect.
Planning Approval has been granted by Dumfries and Galloway Council for the Loreburn Housing Association for the proposed redevelopment of the former Garrick Hospital site, Edinburgh Road, Stranraer.
This development includes:
• A foyer and associated 12 person unsupported flats
• 12 supported flats
• 6 adapted bungalows
• 4 person supported unit
This development is currently with Dumfries and Galloway Council for Building Warrant Approval. Development construction works start late spring 2018.
Part 1 & Part 2 Architectural Assistant
Aitken Turnbull Architects are currently recruiting for Part 1 & Part 2 Architectural Assistants to join our Edinburgh office. You will be working on a variety of projects including residential, commercial, leisure, education and healthcare.
Requirements for this Role:
– Excellent written and communication skills
– Experience of working within a UK practice is advantageous
– A good understanding of AutoCAD or REVIT is beneficial
– A good understanding of Adobe Creative Suite
– Knowledge of Scottish Technical Standards would be beneficial
Whilst working as an Assistant you will be:
– Communicating with clients, contractors and colleagues
– Working closely with a design team
– Working on all RIBA stages
– Using AutoCAD and REVIT to produce drawings

David Burgher was delighted to represent Aitken Turnbull as part of the delivery team in the Partnership Agreement between Eildon Housing Association and Hart Builders for 388 new homes across the Scottish Borders. The official agreement took place at Sergeants Park on the 29th November and was witnessed by Minister for Housing, Kevin Stewart.
