East Lothian

Aitken Turnbull were commissioned to design a substantial extension onto a former lodge house.

Located in East Lothian, the original lodge house was had only two rooms. The accommodation was extended to provide two bedrooms, a dining hall, lounge, family kitchen and bathroom alongside a new utility.

The one-storey design was influenced by local verncular architecture. The cottage is constructed from local sandstone and features pronounced edge and window stone details alongside a slate roof. Double glazed windows in timber frames were also installed to enhance a traditional style.
